Terms
Using this site means accepting what is on this page. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, and the important part is the first heading.
Check before you go
Listings on this site come from organisers, from venues, and from public calendars and feeds published by other people. I do not guarantee that any of it is accurate, complete or current. Times move, prices change, and a hall floods.
Before you drive somewhere or buy a ticket, confirm the details with the organiser or the venue. Every event page links back to whoever published it, which is the fastest way to do exactly that.
What this site is and is not
The Kootenay Slate lists events. It does not organise them, host them, run them, vet them, endorse them or take responsibility for them. An event appearing here is not a recommendation, and the order of the wall is time and nothing else.
Where a listing links to a ticket seller, that transaction is entirely between you and the seller. This site is not a party to it, takes no payment, holds no ticket, and has no role in a refund. The seller’s own terms are the ones that govern it.
What this site is not responsible for
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss, cost, disappointment or injury arising from a listing on this site being wrong, out of date, incomplete or missing, from an event being cancelled, moved or different from its listing, from anything that happens at an event, or from anything on a site this one links to.
Some consumer protections under British Columbia law cannot be waived, and nothing on this page attempts to waive them. Where a part of this section cannot apply, the rest still does.
If you submit an event
By sending an event in, you confirm that you have the authority to publish it, that what you have told me is accurate, and that it does not infringe anybody’s rights or break any law.
You agree to cover the cost of any claim brought against me that arises out of what you submitted, including reasonable legal costs. That clause is here for one situation: somebody using this form to publish something they had no right to publish.
A person reads every submission before it goes up, and I can decline or remove anything without giving a reason. Sending something in does not oblige me to publish it.
Linking, and reusing what is here
Link to anything on this site freely. The event facts here are facts, and facts are not owned. The calendar files at every venue page are meant to be used, including on a venue’s own site.
The words on this site that I wrote, and the design of it, are mine. Anything quoted from another calendar belongs to whoever wrote it, which is why this site links out for descriptions instead of reprinting them.
Taking something down
If something here is wrong, or is yours and you want it gone, email hello@kootenaylist.ca or use the Wrong? Tell me link on the event page. I answer within two working days, and I do not argue with a takedown request from an organiser about their own event.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply in it.
