This site is run by me, Brett Faucher, doing business as Kootenay Made Digital, in Castlegar, BC. By using it, you agree to this page. It is written to be easy to read, and the most important part comes first.
Check before you go
Listings here come from organisers, venues and public calendars run by other people. I cannot promise that any of it is correct, complete or up to date. Times move, prices change, and halls flood.
Before you drive somewhere or buy a ticket, check with the organiser or the venue. Every event page links back to where it came from, which is the quickest way to check.
What this site is and is not
The Kootenay Slate lists events. It does not organise, host, run or endorse them, and it is not responsible for them. Being listed here is not a recommendation. The wall is sorted by time and nothing else.
If a listing links to a ticket seller, the sale is between you and the seller. This site takes no payment, holds no tickets and has no part in refunds. The seller’s own terms apply.
Using the Slate as an app on your phone changes none of this. It is the same site under the same terms.
What this site is not responsible for
As far as the law allows, I am not responsible for any loss, cost, injury or disappointment caused by any of these:
- a listing that is wrong, out of date, incomplete or missing
- an event that is cancelled, moved or different from its listing
- anything that happens at an event
- anything on a site this one links to
Some consumer rights under BC law cannot be signed away, and this page does not try to. If part of this section cannot apply, the rest still does.
If you submit an event
When you send in an event, you promise three things. You are allowed to publish it. What you told me is true. It does not break any law or anyone’s rights.
If someone makes a claim against me because of what you sent, you agree to cover the cost, including fair legal fees. This is here for one case: someone using the form to post something they had no right to post.
A real person reads every submission before it goes up. I can turn down or remove anything without giving a reason. Sending something in does not mean I have to publish it.
Linking to and reusing what is here
Link to anything here. Event facts are facts, and nobody owns them. The calendar file on each venue page is there to be used, including on the venue’s own site.
The words I wrote and the design of this site are mine. Anything from another calendar belongs to whoever wrote it. That is why this site links to descriptions instead of copying them.
Taking something down
If something here is wrong, or it is yours and you want it gone, email hello@kootenayslate.ca or use the Wrong? Tell me link on the event page. I reply within two working days. If you run the event and want it off, it comes off.
The law that applies
The laws of British Columbia, and the Canadian laws that apply in BC, govern these terms.
